The
founders
of
the
world’s
two
biggest
crypto
exchanges,
Changpeng
Zhao
and
Brian
Armstrong,
are
the
richest
individuals
in
the
crypto
industry.
That’s
according
to
Forbes,
which
unveiled
on
April
2
its
annual
ranking
of
the
richest
crypto
billionaires.
Changpeng
Zhao,
known
as
CZ,
tops
the
list,
even
as
he
awaits
sentencing
in
the
US
on
money
laundering
charges
after
agreeing
to
pay
$200
million
in
fines
and
to
step
down
as
the
CEO
of
the
world’s
largest
crypto
exchange
for
three
years.
Despite
those
setbacks
and
an
exodus
of
executive
staff
from
Binance
last
year,
Forbes
estimates
his
fortune
at
$33
billion.
Brian
Armstrong,
the
CEO
of
the
largest
US
cryptocurrency
exchange,
Coinbase,
is
in
2nd
place
with
a
net
worth
of
$11.2
billion
after
the
exchange’s
stock
price
soared
200%
in
the
past
year.
Armstrong
holds
an
18%
stake
in
Coinbase.
For
the
third
year
running,
Changpeng
Zhao,
founder
and
former
CEO
of
crypto
exchange
Binance,
is
crypto’s
