Deaton
said
that
while
Warren
has
said
all
banking
executives
deserved
prison
time
for
their
role
in
the
“Great
Financial
Crisis,”
and
promised
to
hold
them
accountable
for
the
financial
collapse
in
2008-09,
she
subsequently
supported
their
bailouts.
The
pro-crypto
lawyer
also
said
that
Senator
Warren’s
policies
are
designed
to
shield
the
current
financial
system
to
the
detriment
of
innovation
within
the
crypto
space.

Criticized
Crypto
Billionaires
Backing
John
Deaton
Deaton
comfortably
won
the
Republican
nomination
for
the
US
Senate
in
the
Massachusetts
primary
election.
Politico
data
shows
that
he
received
135,557
votes,
making
up
64.9%
of
the
votes
that
were
submitted.
He
was
also
able
to
outraise
Warren
in
the
first
quarter
of
2024
due
to
backing
from
crypto
industry
titans.
Warren
is
known
for
having
an
anti-crypto
stance,
and
has
claimed
that
the
technology’s
only
use
is
to
facilitate
illegal
activities.
By
backing
Deaton,
crypto
executives
hope
to
change
current
crypto
policy
in
the
US
that
has
seen
the
Securities
and
Exchange
Commission
initiate
a
series
of
lawsuits
against
companies
operating
in
the
space.
After
Deaton’s
primary
victory,
Warren
criticized
the
“small
handful
of
crypto
billionaires”
who
donated
more
than
$2
million
to
her
rival’s
campaign.
